Jewel is a major star in the US, appearing on all the major talk shows
and on the cover of many US magazines, including Rolling Stone (twice),
Interview, Details, and incredibly Time.
After a slow start Jewel's career initially peaked in the States during
1997 where she toured for most of the year solo and as part of the Lilith
Fair. She was nominated for Grammys and won an American Music Award and
an MTV Music Video award.
