ABCD (All Of The Above)
|
|
Probably the first song written by Jewel. She said she always wanted
to perform big-band songs, inspired by listening to Ella Fitzgerald's
Songbook. So she wrote this little song, while working on her 2-acre
potato field when she was a little girl.

This was a Steve Poltz and Jewel experiment, written at Jewel's

an elderly piano teacher back in Jewel's home town of Homer. She once
told Jewel that she doesn't know an Adrian either.

Amen

A quote from Jewel..."I wrote this indirectly for Kurt Kobain, but
more precisely for the Angst he represented, but even more exactly for
the hopelessness so many felt afer his death. The dilemma of what does
it mean when our Heroes and Idols kill themselves. Personally this is
my favorite song that made it on the album, both for singing and for
its words."
Can be found on Jewel's debut album Pieces Of UK.
