Jewel's 5th studio album, due for release from May 2003, expected in the UK later in 2003. To quote from Jewelink: "All of the lyrics were written by Jewel, as always, and she co-wrote all of the music. Her collaborators include Lester Mendez (Jewel's co-producer, famed for his work with Shakira, Santana, and Enrique Iglesias) on 10 tracks. A track called 'Fragile Heart' with Anthony Bell, a member of the A Touch Of Jazz writing family (founded by DJ Jazzy Jeff), who has worked with Common and Pharrell Williams. One track with Guy Chambers, who has worked with Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue, among many others. And two tracks with Rick Nowels, who of course worked with Jewel on tracks for her last album such as 'Standing Still,' 'This Way' and 'I Won't Walk Away.'"
Talking about the album Jewel has said "there's fierce grooves and dance beats and futuristic keyboard and retro '80s synth sounds, with acoustic sounds and organic string instruments and hand-clapping and whistling, and then of course I strove to put thoughtful, crafted lyrics on it all. Simple, right? The record is as lyric-driven as my last, but it is equally rhythm-driven. It's a fun record and has been a blast to make so far, and should be even more fun to perform live."
