| Down So Long |
The second single taken from Jewel's album Spirit is the up-tempo Down So Long. This was the last Jewel single to
be released worldwide. It was released in the UK as a remixed version on the 14th June 1999, the new mix only
differed from the album version by the addition of some more electric guitar. The single was released with two
extra tracks: Fat Boy, recorded live at London's Shepherds Bush Empire from 14th November 1997 and
I'm Sensitive recorded live at the Innerchange Coffee in San Diego, this version can also be
found on the promo EP Save The Linoleum.

For the Japanese release there were an additional two tracks, You Were Meant For Me from
the 2 Meter Sessions as found on the Hands single, and the single version of Foolish Games.
Also included was a lyric sheet which contains the lyrics for all five songs in both
Japanese and English, this also has some sort of bio information, but it is all in
Japanese.

Flipside - 25th June 1999
Jewel has sold ten million albums for a reason. She writes songs that are solid and dependable growers with all the hallmarks America looks for when choosing its stars. A tender voice, poetic words, acoustic strummers, moderate rock guitars and a hint of desperate sincerity, all graced with country twangs. 'Down So Long' is all of the above but with an added twist: it's got a chorus that'll devour you whole with its haunting notes and Jewel's sumptuous, innocent vocals. It's just gorgeous.
