I've heard this year have to be the best things I've heard ever. Let It
Be by The Replacements - great writing, lots of attitude. But
the first Rickie Lee Jones album had a great, innovative,
jazz-inflected vibe. But then Yma Sumac is an all-time classic - but
a bit tiresome upon repetition. Strike that. At a loss to decide, I thought
what album I've been listening to longest, that I've never tired of. The
answer: Ella Fitzgerald, The Cole Porter Songbook. Best
writing, best singing.
