JEWEL GETS BETWEEN THE COVERS

Can't wait until next October for Alaskan songstress JEWEL'S second album? Well, help is at hand for fans of introspective, psyche-searching female angst, as the 23-year-old singer-songwriter is reportedly close to signing a $2 million book publishing deal with HarperCollins for a volume of poetry and a "scrapbook" of her childhood.

Jewel's poetry should hit the shops in the spring, with the scrapbook to coincide with her second LP in the autumn.
