ABCD (All Of The Above)
The first song Jewel ever wrote.

Jewel says:
When I was a little girl we had about a 2-acre potato patch that we had to weed every day after school, in the fall. And I had given to me this Ella Fitzgerald Cole Porter Songbook tape, it was my bible. And I grew up always wanting to sing big band tunes. And I remember writing this one little big band tune on the potato field. I never finished it, but I always thought it was cute.

Notable performances: If you don't like the piano based version on Spirit then you could try to find the bootleg tape 'Jewel Rocks The Paradise' (The Paradise Rock Club, Boston, MA, 18th May 1996) where Jewel sings it with her acoustic guitar.

Amen
Availability:
Jewel says:
I wrote this indirectly for Kurt Kobain, but more precisely for the Angst he represented, but even more exactly for the hopelessness so many felt after his death. The dilemma of what does it mean when our Heroes and Idols kill themselves. Personally this is my favourite song that made it on the album, both for singing and for it's words.
Notable performances: All of them, usually performed during an encore.
