Jewel says:
My hands for me have always been...I've always watched my hands. Hands are the servant of your mind. I used to drive the tractor in the hay fields looking at my hands and wondering what they would do when they were older. I never thought that they'd be here, but I realised I wanted to try and be conscious about my living because a lot of times you act very thoughtlessly, or I do. I didn't want people to misunderstand what I'm saying in the song. It's not a naive statement: "I want to tell the world we're all okay". It's not because there aren't any problems, it's not because I'm naive to the problems that are happening. It's that how we deal with problems is everything.
