1st November 1997

Jewel on Later... Jewel's first appearance on Later... was broadcast on BBC2 on Saturday 1st November 1997 at 11:35pm. The show was recorded while Jewel was on her UK tour in October, probably on the 15th October as she mentioned her appearance at the recording while performing that evening's show in Birmingham.

A still from Later... The other guests on the show were The Verve, Ricki Lee Jones, UB40 and Roni Size, each getting to perform two where lowly Jewel only got to perform Who Will Save Your Soul, a strange choice since she was to release You Were Meant For Me in November.

Jools introduces Jewel Before Jewel was introduced, Jools Holland showed the audience pictures of various US magazine covers that she had appeared on because she was 'very talented'

During the performance, Jewel was accompanied by Jools on the piano.

After her performance Jools invited Jewel back onto the New Years Eve special. She willingly accepted.

The show was repeated on BBC2 on Friday 4th September 1998 at 00:05.

Singing St Louis Blues Jewel's second appearance on Jools Holland's show was on 31st December 1997 as part of his 5th Annual Hootenanny special It was broadcast at 23:55 on New Years Eve on BBC2.
Although the guests appeared to be celebrating the New Year live, the show was in fact recorded earlier in the month.

Jewel on the Hootenanny Jools Holland asked each of his guests what their predictions and resolutions were for the new year. Jewel didn't seem to get into the spirit of the show, when asked her prediction she answered "Winter will be cold and summer will come" and for her resolution she replied "I've no idea".

Jewel performed two songs :

St. Louis Blues - Jewel with Jools Holland, on piano, and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

Sam Brown, Gabrielle and Jewel Let Your Tears Fall Baby - Jewel, Sam Brown and Gabrielle accompanied by B B King, Dave "Pink Floyd" Gilmour, Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.
