Jewel will produce and feature in a movie called Waves. The script by Dave Rothmiller was bought by Jewel's production company on 6th August 2002.
The 16th July 2002 edition of Jewelink states...'"Wave" is the story of the chaos that ensues in a small island community when an estranged mother and her son reunite. It is an ensemble piece that Jewel's production company, Magic Lantern Entertainment, has purchased. It is in packaging at Creative Artists Agency, where they are very excited about the project. And there is a spicy featured role in it for Jewel.'
Jewel has said in a recent interview with RollingStone.com that this will be directed by Goldie Hawn.
There was a rumour in November 2002 that Jewel would be co-starring in a movie called Custody with Donal Logue and directed by Christopher Wilkinson. Production is scheduled to start in April 2003. However there has been no official confirmation of this rumour.
