Eton Head

Thanks to everybody, their families and friends for all their help. It was a great success.

The party was in full swing and we had a full turnout for the celebrations. Thanks to all who slaved in the kitchen to provide the food, which was greatly appreciated and obviously very appetising.

We raised approximately £1,000, which will go towards the cost of the boat.

Cardiff - 18th April

Well done to all Team Members for making our first event a tremendous success both for the team and the new Crew Manager.

Cardiff was proof of the pudding that the training both on the water, and the gym training (under the guidance of Stuart) is working. However, continuity of training as a team with full attendance will ensure even greater success.

The Team must continue to train in order to keep fitness and stamina at a competitive level.

A special thanks to Sean for his crew selection, which always proves a difficult task. Also to John for his expertise and steering us to victory.

Please let the Team Captain (01344 886877) know if you are not able to attend a training session and could you also let Sean know your holiday dates if possible.

Well done Crew (Fill Yer Lungs!)

6th June - BDA National Qualifying Event

This event was scheduled for Cardiff, but it has now been changed to Surrey Docks.

Oakley Court

Sunday 16th May at 1pm, Oakley Court, Windsor. This is a Corporate Hospitality Day. As usual, we will put on a display and run 2 races for the teams. This is worth £750 for the club, so please all attend. We need helms, safety cover, starters, finishers, bailers and possibly strokes, so come prepared. More details nearer the time.

Events

Please support the club. Don't put your name down if you don't intend going or if you are one of those members who drops out if there doesn't look if there is a strong enough team. Make it strong and put your name down.

Eton Boys

From the middle of May we will be running the in-house Eton College Boys Dragon Boat Event. This is where all the houses race against each other in qualifying heats each week, leading up to the final on 2nd June (June 4th Founders Day Celebrations). We will be running 2 races, twice a week from the middle of May until the beginning of June (dates to be finalised - usually a Wednesday and Friday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm). We need helms, marshals, safety, starters, finishers, bailers etc. so please attend if you can. This is worth £1,000 for the club.

The final is on the College's Founders Day, so the race will be in the morning, about 10.30am on Fellows Eyot (the other side of the Weir). We need at least 10 people to help - 2 helms, safety, starters and finishers.

Why not make it a day out - get dressed up and have strawberries and champagne on the field and watch the festivities. There is the traditional parade of boats where boys are dressed up in traditional costume and row along Fellows Eyot, standing to salute to Windsor and Eton shaking flowers from their boaters trying not to fall in - but, when they do it's great!
