Training
With
immediate effect, training will be as follows:-
Monday
7.30pm - Ergos at the Boathouse in Eton.
Wednesday
7.30pm - Gym
Wednesday
9.00pm - Swimming (negotiating at the moment)
Sunday 10.30am -
River Training
This will
continue until the beginning of December and will recommence the second week of
January.
Training is still important even though the
season has finished. It will build on
your fitness level, improve strength and stamina and give us a head start on
all the others next season.
Paddles
There will be a deposit of £27 for all new
paddles issued. Cheques should be
undated and will only be cashed if the paddle is not returned at the end of the
season or is broken.
23rd
October- Batchworth Triathlon
Rickmansworth Sailing
Club, Troy Lake, Rickmansworth - early start to be advised. We have minibuses booked, so we will meet at
the Parade Ground in Eton on Saturday morning.
The day will
consist of a 2.5 mile Mountain Bike Relay where five members will each cycle
2.5 miles around a road/dirt track course in a relay style race. This is then followed by 1 mile running
relay, where again five members will each run 1 mile in relay style. The day is completed by a 5km Dragon Boat
Race.
We need at least
19 members to take part including 5 women.
Some of you have already indicated that you want to do the
cycling/running, but double check with Paul O. It should be a great day.
There
is an End of Season Ball afterwards held in the Golf Club. If you want to attend, please let Paul or
Cass know.
6th November 1999 - Fireworks &
Bonfire Night
There are still
tickets to be sold. This is the first
time we have held something like this - spectacular fireworks display, bonfire,
hot food and lots of drink - all for £10.00.
Children are free and will each get a toffee apple.
There is a
competition for the kids - the best Guy Forks gets burnt on the fire!!
We have tried to
undertake all the necessary safety precautions. There will be a barrier around the bonfire to keep the kids (of all
ages!) at a safe distance. There will
be fire extinguishers, first aid kit etc.
It should be a
great night for both adults and kids, so bring your family and friends - the
more people, the better the fireworks.

3rd December - Christmas Party
Chicago Rock
Café, Windsor - Dinner at 7.15pm prompt, we only have a 2 hour sitting as its
so busy, so meet no later than 7pm at the bar.
Once we have finished eating, there is a bar and disco till late.
The meal is
£18.95 each which includes a mix of starters, main meal and pudding. The menu is on the board in the
boathouse. Please indicate what you
want to eat asap. There is a choice of
Chicken, Steak, Salmon and Vegetarian.
We will need payment by cheque (which can be postdated to the end of
October) asap. Please give your cheques
to Jo.
