Bevil Grenville

Grenville was a wealthy landowner who had a passion for knowledge.

Although initially opposed to Charles I, he later sided with him, and led a regiment for the Royalist cause in the South-West.

His regiment distinguished itself at the battle of Lansdown , but Grenville was killed in the fighting.
