The Peachpit

"Ladies and gentlemen, there is more than one  class of celebrity. You have your basic megastar, someone who stands out for their superlative quality, their talent and their charisma. Next you have the Legend, a person who has transcended the status of Megastar, become something not quite of this world, something that demands worship on some kind of level. Next comes your God, a person who has risen above both Megastar and Legend to become something more, something that makes your knees quiver and your mouth go dry whenever you hear their name. Then comes Myth and after that Fable. Fable is perhaps the highest form of accolade available before we enter a completely new area of celebrity status -  the realm of Amateur Cathedral Swallower"
John Cleese (Saturday Night Live)

Profile

Bruce Willis, real name Walter Willison, has three children called Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. Born on March 19, 1955 in Germany Bruce, the son of a welder, grew up in the tough streets of New Jersey from the age of two. In his youth he was nicknamed Buck Buck due to a stutter and first took a shine to acting when he realised the stutter disappeared on stage.

During his time at college Bruce indulged his passion for entertaining and joined a band (Loose Goose) playing the harmonica. To subsidise his early ventures into the world of acting Bruce worked as a security guard and afterwards a barman. And, after numerous unproductive Broadway shows and TV advertisements  was discovered by casting executives for a new TV show, Moonlighting, co-staring opposite the vivacious female star Cybill Sheperd.

Moonlighting shot Bruce to instant fame and procured him a part in his first movie, Blind Date, starring alongside an up and coming Kim Basinger. Blind Date, in turn, lead to his being chosen for the starring role in the first Die Hard movie since when Bruce has enjoyed nothing but success and fame.

Bruce quotes

"Virtually everybody in his life is always asking him for something.   I used to open his fan mail.  People from all over the world would write: "Can I borrow $50,000 and I'll pay you back with interest? I promise." From Lisa Comtaruk, rumoured to be the girl responsible for drawing Bruce's eye away from Demi.
"I will never get used to people I don't know shouting my name out in the street." Bruce
"That boy was rotten to the core" Bruce's chemistry teacher
