This section is dedicated to various historical sites, more accurately pre-historical sites at present. In the long term, I hope to document a series of the better known Neolithic sites in Britain (although Grimes Graves may present something of a technical challenge!). If anybody out there has any suggestions for sites I should include, please let me know. (I wrote this in 1998. It is all very unlikely now as I am living in Switzerland :-) )
Avebury Ring & surroundings
Although less famous than nearby (and younger) Stonhenge, Avebury is generally reckoned to be the most spectacular Neolithic site in Britain, if not the world. Spitalfields excavations, 1999
In early 1999 the University of London Archeological Department excavated an area adjacent to Spitalfields Market in London, discovering Roman and Medieval structures and burial grounds. I was asked to document some of this in QTVR format as an experiment.
