Goldkeep is the trading name of freelance computer consultant Steve Burns.



Steve's career - a brief summary...

  • Twenty years experience, the majority of which has been spent on ICL hardware using the VME skill set: COBOL, IDMS, TPMS, SCL, etc.

  • More recent development experience of Unix (including MicroFocus COBOL and embedded SQL), IBM mainframe, JCL, COBOL II and COBOL/OS390, also MS Office products and Visual Basic.

  • Also non-commercial internet experience: HTML, Dynamic HTML, web site development (see below).

  • Recent training including Java, HTML.

  • Roles undertaken include programmer, analyst/programmer, analyst, tester, team leader, implementor and systems manager.

  • Various application areas, including many years in Local Government and Utilities.

  • Up to February 2006, worked for three-and-a-half years as part of integrated system test team at Npower, currently working for HBOS on financial services systems. All these positions as Test Analyst.

  • Available October 2008.

  Preferred locations - within commuting distance of Leeds: essentially Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.
