Donny Osmond Donny, accomplished singer, songwriter, actor, musician,
and race car driver, has been a leading figure in the entertainment
industry for more than a quater of a century. Donny Osmond was one of the most celebrated performers in the '60s and
'70s. He first caught the public's attention at the age of 6 when he joined
his brothers in The Osmonds, the superstar group which
subsequently scored a steady string of Top 40 hits around the world.
By the time he was 13, Donny was a solo phenomenon, creating hit after
hit. During a nine-year period, he earned 23 gold records; eight went
gold in one year alone. In 1976, at the age of 17, Osmond made television
history when he and his sister, Marie, became the youngest hosts ever
of a weekly one-hour variety program, Donny and Marie. He made his Broadway theatrical debut in 1982, playing the title
role in the George M. Cohan musical Little Johnny Jones. In June 1992 Donny Osmond gave Joseph its North American
premiere at Toronto's Elgin Thetare. Since then his electrifying
performances have astounded both critics and audiences all across
North America. Performing to sold-out audiences nightly, Osmond and the
Joseph production have shattered box office and attendance
records in Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Minneapolis and Chicago,
and Donny's recording of the Joseph soundtrack with the
original Canadian company has been certified quadruple platinum. | ||
