It has not been easy to compile this index to the standard which is demanded, as I have to break off for periods of ear-dictation every half-hour or so. I ask our readers to pardon mistakes for the time being. Revision will be undertaken as soon as I have the opportunity.
Where the words 'me' and 'I' occur in the index, the reference is always to the Count, not to me. He was anxious that his personal touch should always be apparent. Those articles which the Count considers of the greatest Interest and Importance to the public have - by his orders - been marked out in Royal Purple.
The Count has also required that I should add links to each item, to help the reader seeking a reference, but this must wait for a period of spare time, as the Index should have appeared yesterday, and this was the best I could do. Although 'torture-chamber' and 'execution' are longish words, the Count is very well able to spell them out with his ears.
As the Index covers by far the greater part of Human Knowledge, we hope that you will find it useful,.
