Hello, my name is Shane Trimble and I live locally in Hackney. I
am the newly appointed co-ordinator of the Neighbourhood
Regeneration Fund Autism project.
What does this mean?
Well it’s fantastic news for you and the local Hackney community.
I am in charge of funding that is for improving the lives of people
with Autism, their Family and their Carers.
What the money means is...
- We want to identify and make contact with people with Autism
in Hackney.
- We want to hear from parents, carers and other support networks
and share experiences of mainstream services currently offered
to Adults with Autism.
- We want to support mainstream services to provide support.
- Promote more awareness to the local community, eg; cafes, leisure
centres, restaurants, colleges……
- Find out what’s working and what’s not and how we
can improve the lives of individuals in our local community.
- Recruit new staff and train in inventive and structured approach
to working with people with Autism.
Help us to help you
Our main aim initially is to promote Autism awareness. It has been
recognised that there is a lack of opportunity for people who fall
under the Autistic Spectrum in your local borough. I would welcome
your views and ideas to help spend this money in the most useful
and pro-active way.
I would like to invite you to circulate this information, display
it at your workplace, or pass it on to a friend you know and get
them to give us a call or drop us a line help to promote a need
in your local area.
