Michelle O'Neill
Service Manager (Complex Needs)

I came to Hilt in 2001 to set up a new and innovative supported living project for 2 people with very high support needs in Tower Hamlets .My role has now changed to service manager with lead responsibility for supporting people with complex needs. I work with managers, staff and service users to find out the best way of improving people’s lives and providing person centred services. My main interest and experience are working with individuals with a reputation of challenging services.

I have responsibilities for services in Islington, Tower Hamlets and Hackney. I enjoy working within these boroughs and learning from the different work practices they all adopt.
I have diverse experience which includes working in a variety of settings supporting people with learning disabilities over many years. Before joining Hilt I set up and managed a day service for people with complex needs.

I have a long history of working for social services managing residential and day care services. I was involved in the reprovision of a local authority hostel.

I obtained a degree in psychology in France and then the NVQ 4 in management in England. I also completed the diploma in applied psychology of learning disability (challenging behaviour) from the Tizard Centre at the University of Kent.
