Patricia
Weekes
Care Bank Manager
My role within HILT is to oversee the running of
HILT’s sessional bank staff, who work within the organisation.
I have been in this role for approximately 5 years and with HILT
even longer! My job is interesting and varied and involves contact
with individuals from different walks of life.
I have good relationships with HILT’s service users and have
regular contact with the outreach service users who contact me with
regards to support they need, they are very vocal and take the lead
when requesting who they would like to support them. Some of the
bookings we cover are fun and challenging, from finding a worker
to support a service user to a football match or karate lessons
to supporting users to their holiday destination, eg. Bodmin or
Scarborough.
I have a Certificate in Personnel Practice and enjoy the ‘people’
element of my work, I like recruiting new staff, drawing out their
skills and experience, matching them to a project or service, and
observing that person develop and grow within themselves. It is
very rewarding when the feedback from service users and colleagues
are received with regards to the sessional workers.
