Europe is for St. Aidan's For those of you who've kept up with events at St. Aidan's in the past year, you know that we were very pleased to receive our grant from the National Lotteries Charities Board for £61,176 for capital improvements to our physical plant. The thing was, the more we looked the more expensive things became. We ended up looking at a £100,000 refurbishment bill. How could we find the short-fall? God had been gracious once, could the same happen again? Introduction It did. Success! and... What's Next? So we got it. And what's next? St. Aidan's with its typical style, has not done these things in the "classic" Church of England style. We just saw a need and went for it. Now we must find a general contractor to oversee the work and meet the guidelines of the Diocese concerning consecrated buildings and gain their approval of the works proposed. We must also demonstrate to the Charities Board that the work has gone out to two contractors and that it meets building code regulations. Once this string of red tape is unraveled, we will begin pulling down walls and making dust. Please check our newsletter throughout the year for a regular column on the Lottery Latest.
