Hand-woven woollen suiting.

It is said of this strong and handsome cloth that a climber wearing it cannot fall from the steep Cuillin Hills of the Hebridean Island of Skye, so tough is the cloth and so rough the Gabbro rock with its protruding iron-rich crystals. Certainly the rock is comfortingly secure to climb even in the frequent wet and foggy weather, while the compass swings wildly in the confusing local magnetic fields.

It is perhaps worth mentioning that the cloth pictured here, so marvellously bright and colourful, appears a sober shade of browny-grey at a distance!
