The bundles of ikatted threads are hung out to dry in the sun. They are carefully kept in the sequence which the weaver will need to follow when winding the threads on to bobbins to load into the shuttle. (These are weft ikat threads; warp ikat uses ikatting on the threads which run lengthways on the loom.).
