Penrose tilings are far from being the only possible aperiodic tilings. Here is a quite different one from David Eppstein's riotous Geometry Junkyard, a tiling that can generate an infinite fractal non-repeating labyrinth - simply by selecting only the horizontal or vertical edges from the tiling pattern.
