KATRINA FOX

Katrina Fox worked for many years as a dancer, actress and model.

She has been a journalist since 1997. Her first job was as a full-time reporter/sub for Reed Business Information on a magazine called Personnel Today. This is a fortnightly publication where she also wrote features on workplace issues. Her particular areas on this magazine were equal opportunities, discrimination and employee relations. When on the production desk, duties included subbing, page layout, cutting copy to fit, writing headlines, standfirsts and captions, some picture research and editing. She was also in charge of producing the magazine when the production editor was away.

In March 1999 Katrina left Personnel Today to work for Sky TV, to launch a website called Reach for the Sky. This is part of Sky's national programme for the millennium and is a teenage careers website.

She now works as a full-time senior reporter for Inside Housing, a weekly magazine for social housing professionals. Areas covered include poverty, social exclusion, poverty, homelessness, supported housing and tenant issues.

Katrina also undertakes some freelance assignments. Her particular areas of interest and expertise include gender issues (especially transsexualism), lesbian and gay issues, animal rights, direct action, social justice, complementary medicine/alternative health, psychology, hypnosis, drugs, new age philosophies, alternative lifestyle, and employment issues

Katrina's writing credits include Time Out, Diva, Teletext, London Cyclist, Contract Journal, Local Transport Today, Corporate Watch, The Vegan, The Stage,and the Pink Paper. She is the co-author of Trans-X-U-All: The Naked Difference, which is currently available directly from Extraordinary People Press.
