OUR HISTORY

ABOUT VICKY

Born on a Dairy farm in Derbyshire, England in 1951, looking after calves for her dad was her earliest dealings with animals, showing calves at Agricultural Shows her first experience exhibiting.  Breeding Rabbits when about 10.. and helping with chickens, golden pheasants, and milking a 54 strong Fresian Dairy herd before school and after. Dog breeding was her mothers hobby like many farmers wives breeding good healthy pedigree puppies was a way of supplementing the farm income. There were several breeds ...... Sheep dogs, Dachshunds, Labradors, Wire hair Terriers, and a beloved bulldog called Lady Churchill, whose puppy went on to be Best in Show at Newark in the 1960's.

So a long love affair with bulldogs began ... Vicky's grandparents also had a very big brindle bitch too, so they were very much in the family.  Vickys first dog of her own was a Shih-tzu called Roxy she was living in Cornwall at this time and began breeding Pygmy Goats and Fallabella miniature Horses, rare breed ducklings and had her children at this time, spending the time with her animals at a small holding.

Unfortunately personal circumstances in1986  forced a move back to the Midlands and living in a normal town  house she started breeding and showing Kezia  Shih-tzus, she also had a Doberman bitch and two cats! all this time though she would never get bulldogs out of her sights ... one day it would have to be a bulldog ... so saving for a year she got her Ocobo Roseanna from Norman Davies and Vickie Roach, a great foundation bitch and if she had enjoyed showing she would have been a very good bitch all round.  Then she was offered a bitch aged 3 from a family that had lost interest in her so the Kezia Bulldog Kennel was born.

Domino Dulcie 'Dora' is line bred Aldridge and this led to a good relationship with the Cottons, when they were ready to breed the first two litters were mostly exported as they are sought after blood lines.

Vicky has attended breed seminars in Bulldogs and Shih-tzus, was on the B list for Shih-tzus and judges several other Utility breeds. Has attended Reaseheath Agricultural College in Cheshire  for 2 years to get her NVQ qualification in small animal care, and is very keen to promote healthy dogs in the breed and to do the very best for any animals she owns.
