It was formed from the British Osborne Owners Group, enthusiasts for the first portable computer, the Osborne 01, a sewing-machine sized box designed by Adam Osborne and supplied with an attractive CP/M software bundle.
Times change, and most of our members use PCs and MS-DOS
- even Windows.
Now we are investigating BOOG Online
and the BOOG discussion list
as a more modern, immediate and cost-effective way of continuing
the mutual assistance provided by our meetings,
journal and telephone support.
Site Policy - This is a low-bandwidth, low-graphics, wide availability site. Most of the pages are text only and graphics are only introduced where they are the message. Tables may be used (sparingly) for improved page layout. Most pages are hand-coded in HTML and tested using Netscape 1.1 or Internet Explorer 2.0. Some demonstration pages may use backgrounds or advanced features such as Image Maps, Frames or Javascript, but most of our message will remain available to all.
