Death Star destroyed

Reports are beginning to filter in from Yavin concerning a catastrophic technical failure aboard the Death Star battle station.  Initial reports say that the station was destroyed by a small wing of fighters battling on behalf of the Rebel Alliance.  While this cannot be confirmed, insiders say that the plans for the Death Star had indeed been stolen - a link perhaps to the destruction of the planet Alderaan a few days ago.

While these events cannot be confirmed it seems likely that the Imperial forces shall push on with their expansionist policies and move through the Mid-Rim towards the Outer Rim Territories.

Reports of Emperor Palpatine's fury are unconfirmed.
