Creatures and Aliens Guide Abajee - A four metre
long crushing snake from the world of Alorea. Ablo Grub - A 10
centimetre long furred worm. Growling
when stroked, these are a well sought after stress pet. Native to Cawbate, there are known to be only 2000 in existence. Bagglefish – Aquatic creature native to the Ki-Ki world of Fedarn. A delicacy, the Bagglefish is rare and
difficult to catch. Bitna – Brevnian Poppleworm – Short and fat invertebrate
from Branta that is a nutritious food
for travellers lost in the wastes. Cannasley - Chills - Chimboes - Clann Rats - Coryarthanax - One of the single most dangerous creatures in the entire Setnin Sector, the Coryarthanax was
unleashed upon the galaxy after an accident involving the infamous Pillot Alvarna. After years of crossbreeding and genetic
manipulation Glann Cipple's ideas of a loyal warrior race were set back when a transporter
carrying the creatures to the research planet of Repusub crashed and the creatures
were unleashed. Capable of breeding
at a tremendous rate, the creatures are more like a massive infection and
require treating with extreme prejudice.
Blessed with limited intelligence, the Coryarthanax lives to eat,
breed and kill. A powerful muscular
frame is supported by a strong internal and external skeleton, giving it a
bony appearance. Long limbs,
including two stubby arms protruding from the chest aid manipulation of its
prey and a long coiling tail is used as a weapon of deadly ability. With a head that grows directly from
between the shoulders, the creature has a snake like appearance. Authorities around the sector have found
eradicating the creatures to be more than a little difficult. Their ability to secrete their larvae
onboard ships bound for other worlds has made them a much-hated species. Elements of this creature were spliced
into the genetic make-up of the Goah Galletti clone. Dancer Fish - Flogga - Gorosh - These huge
creatures, measuring a minimum of 2.5 metres to the shoulder were lizards
with fierce tempers. Able to rear on
two hind legs, with a thick hide, tail and powerful forearms, they were
favoured by the less favourable beings in the galaxy as fighting
animals. Usually shy and secretive, these
animals could be goaded into furious action with the correct cocktail of
drugs. Only a few thousand were
believed to be alive, their homeworld remaining a mystery due to the many
long years they had been spreading across the galaxy. Gutra Lizard - Hariam - Vicious,
cat-like biting animal from the deep jungles of Alorea. Hashtash – Enormous creature that hunted the Plains of Tralivane on Ruuthorne by night.
Able to traverse the deadly plains without injury, the Hashtash was
the most feared predator on the planet, and was often captured by huge Hunter Droids and taken into arenas for combat. They very rarely lost. Jab Jab – Jajacki – Bantha-type herd creature native to the planet Gantooine and utilised by Mira
and Torath Kindar. Janos Bladebird - These dog-sized birds with their pearlescent feathers and serrated
beaks appear almost metallic. Shy but
violent when provoked, these creatures are native to Janos and there are only
believed to be a thousand left
in existence. Jukator - Kales - Zelon. Krayt Dog - Krictakk – Creature made famous by the log in the legendary Diary of Galante. The
Krictakk was a huge, slavering creature that communicated
telepathically. Living on the world
of Salutarr. The Krictakk was forced to move by Imperial invasion, and was saved and relocated by the smuggler Jan Lomona. (DOG) Lobos - Small
creatures from Zelon indigenous to the forests of the Mutumbarr
Lake basin close to the Chancai Trade Centre. Mannack - Mnu Mnu - Large,
equine-like transportation animal from the plains of Entall and Wennicas. Also popular as a delicacy, Mnu Mnu's were
eaten regularly on worlds in the central sector of Setnin such as Zelon and A-desando. Nausarr - Nitchoes - 12
centimetre long lizards from the world of Alorea. Nitchoes carry with them
the virulent disease Ferdali that can render a victim unconscious within seconds and without the
correct medical attention can kill in less then an hour. Petrigs - Sentient
natives of the planet Janos. Known locally as Grogs, Petrigs live in the
shadows and among the hills of Janos, far away from the other natives - the
humanoid Janites. Renin Lizard - Rillers – One of the most deadly creatures in the Setnin Sector,
these were native to the world of Janos. Deadly even at great
distance, these small, half metre high creatures appeared amiable enough, but
once within their lethal spitting range they always attacked, and with an
accuracy that was almost uncanny their venom only had to touch bare skin for
their victim to be condemned to a slow paralysis and the prospect of the pack
eating their flesh while they helplessly watched. Rorak – Meter-tall carnivorous
creature native to the low foothills of Histai and a staple part of the diet of every
Histai native. Roarmill – Dragon-like flying lizard native to the world of Tibbot. Fierce and deadly, they patrol the skies,
regularly chasing landing vessels and scouring cities and townships with their
blasts of fire. Scalga Worm - Small, furry
insect from the planet Larsa that owns a fierce bite and course, irritating body hair. Sraw Rats - Creatures
indigenous to the planet Chinyard and used by Glann Cipple aboard the then derelict Euphoria
Space Station to make a public example
of the traitorous operative Naaven Torr. One metre long with
sharp teeth and claws, Sraw Rats fly into a feeding frenzy when left without
food for a protracted period.
Powerful and swift, Sraw Rats hunt in packs and rarely allow their
prey to escape. Naaven Torr would readily
testify to this - if he were still in one piece to do so. Stagobison - Powerful
pack-herd animals who move in tremendous numbers across the plains of the
planet Legin. Strark
– Creature
found on many Setnin worlds, the Strark was a mid-sized insectoid creature that roamed
cityscapes, eating up unwanted ore, metal, granite, waste, anything not
needed or collected by society. It
wasn’t uncommon for bodies to disappear down the gullet of these ever-hungry
creatures.
Swamp Swans – Large, lizard creatures that inhabited many shores, swamps and plains
of A-desando. Largely found in the Ecaps region of the planet A-desando, Swamp Swans dive-bombed into the waters,
collecting the large and fleshy fish that lived there. A huge nest lived on the wide rim of Lake Ketrue, a vast expanse of water that was often mistaken for an ocean. Weetwyl - Wignog - A simian
creature from the Trefnare System with two sets of upper limbs and powerful rear legs. Short spiky fur makes it look almost
comical. It is capable of simple
tasks but tires quickly and prefers to play, making it a mischievous
creature. Scientists believe that the
Wignog is capable of much more, but professionals remain divided on exactly
how intelligent the creatures are. On
certain worlds it is considered slavery to own one, doubling the punishment. Yulp – Unintelligent simian from the world of Yuma, the Yulp had a low I.Q but an instinct for hunting down quarry. Omnivorous, the Yulp would gather every kind of food for a feast – slug, berry and blood. |
