Chancellor Valorum concedes. The Senate agrees with the actions taken by the
Setnin authorities and ratifies their motion. Invoking the

Ade Lomona and Anak Arkensaw
team up for a mission for Duze Jostenn shipping seven crates of undisclosed
items to Chinngard with Glann Cipple. - En route, Lomona, Arkensaw and Cipple come across a Janite Warpreacher battleship called the Blueheart stealing off with a cargo ship full of fighters. -
Arriving on Chinngard Lomona,
Arkensaw and Cipple drop the boxes off to the planets government who need an
extra power source for their rapidly expanding economy. Whilst there they
meet up with a friend of Anak’s in a bar, Balga Nili, a writer of songs that
go against authorities. -
Balga Nili has been paid highly to
break into the new Zelon Wave Exchange on Chancai and transmit his newest
song ‘Slave to Credits’. His employers are Janites. -
As they talk, Janos Executioners
arrive. They are looking for the owners of Lomona’s ship the Wretched Eclipse
because they have detected Janos Jewel power emanations from it as it landed. -
A fight begins. Eight of the twelve
Janites are killed or incapacitated, Cipple is wounded, as is Arkensaw, and
they all flee with Balga to the ship and run off. -
They fly to Yotil to let Duze
Jostenn know what has happened and they check out the song that the Janites
want him to transmit. They discover there is an underlying code to the music.
Further investigation reveals the signal is designed to shut down all
non-Janite computers throughout the sector. Part of their invasion plan of
the Setnin Sector. They change the code to shut down Janite computers. Cipple
is left with Jostenn to recover and Dessio D’Staan goes with them to take
care of any technical aspects. -
Upon arrival on Chancai they see
Venek Ariso, head of security on Chancai. The upper two levels aren’t
finished yet and the Zelon Wave Exchange is about to come on-line. Ariso
agrees to help them out. -
At the Zelon Wave Exchange,
D’Staan recognises Ariso – he’s a man accused by the Republic years before of
Janite sympathy and collaboration. As he recognises him Ariso tries to stop
the transmission of the Janos-crippling signal. A fight kicks off that leads
to a speeder chase through the as yet unfinished upper levels of Chancai. -
Venek Ariso and his men are killed. - The Janite transmission is sent. Janos forces pull back as their computers crash and their invasion is cancelled. Anak Arkensaw, Ade Lomona and Balga Nili, not wanting to be tied into the event and draw the revenge of the Janites, sneak off during the celebrations. DUZE
JOSTENN ACQUIRES LEOGARD REAL ESTATE
-
Duze Jostenn buys land on Leogard
for mining, as the Setnin Sector has split from the Republic and now has to get
its own raw materials. Pleased with Anak and Ade’s work he puts them in
charge. Balga Nili goes with them. -
Ade and Anak open up two
automated mines and build a small community with workers, naming it Arkona
Town. Things go well for four months. -
Huge strip miners start up on the
land surrounding their claim and dust and chemicals infect their water and
air. The A-Desando Mining Corp have bough tin huge vessels for the work, run
by Ade’s cousin Vernek Lomona. After many problems including quakes and pollution,
Ade manages to push his cousin away from their borders. DISCOVERY
OF THE EN’K’FAR/P’RO TREASURE
-
The strip mining uncovers
underground passages. Upon inspection they contain six huge boxes, buried
deep under the ground. They are En’k’far boxes but contain P’ro dynasty
treasures – about 20 million creds worth. Also, the bodies of a P’ro royal
family are found in one of the boxes, dating back 2500 years. -
After the discovery, the people of
Arkona Town start having visions of the dead coming back and haunting them.
The overall consensus is that the boxes are put back and forgotten about but
Anak is determined to sort out the truth. Another box that is opened sends
out a signal but to whom they don’t know. -
Duze Jostenn arrives. He touches
down and the truth is discovered. It was he who had placed the boxes there
and then bought the land in his name so that the chances of discovery were
limited. He hid them there on behalf of a representative of the En’k’far
called Injevido Tru. 2500 years ago, the En’k’far murdered the P’ro royal
family and stole their riches, keeping them hidden ever since. DJ placed a
neural transmitter in one box so that if it were ever opened the people in
the vicinity would have visions of the dead and think the boxes cursed. -
Injevido Tru wants the boxes
returned to En’k’far space now that they’ve been discovered. Jostenn tells
Anak and Ade that the mine and land is theirs if they assist him. -
Injevido leaves for En’k’far space,
saying he will return when he finds a suitable hiding place. -
Anak Arkensaw and Ade Lomona
decide to find new investors to build up their new enterprise – turning the
land they now own into a holiday resort. One of their workers has a brother
on Luronsa, Dariv, a good friend of Duze Jostenn’s. -
Anak Arkensaw and Ade Lomona
fly to Luronsa to see Dariv who owns a huge pier that juts out of the side of
a mountain. It is covered with casinos and gambling dens. They present him
with the details of the plan. -
Dariv is not interested and Anak and
Ade leave. An hour later, D calls them and invites them to a party that
evening celebrating the Sun Colour Festival, where they could meet many
people who might help them. -
Anak Arkensaw goes to the seedy part
of the pier to find out more about Dariv. He meets Grin who tells him Dariv is
scum – he runs drugs, slaves and all sorts through this pier. Grin asks Anak
if he can help get a friend of his, Patron Cap and his family off planet and
out of Dariv’s clutches. In return for his information, Anak agrees. -
Anak Arkensaw and Ade Lomona attend
the party that night and discover Heena, one of Jostenn’s operatives who is
scoping out the place because Duze Jostenn is coming that night for the
party. Also, Ade’s brother Narn Giappa Lomona is there. He has been trying to
bring down Dariv’s operation for a while, and is also interested in buying
into Ade’s plan for the resort on Leogard. -
Anak Arkensaw makes contact with
Patron Cap. He discovers that Patron, a gunsmith, has made a rifle that can
shoot a bolt with accuracy at two klicks. It was to be used on a target at
the party, and they assume it to be Jostenn, Dariv’s biggest friend and
competitor. They let Heena know, but she doesn’t believe them. -
To cover his motives for leaving the
party and going out into the bay to see where the shooter could fire from,
Anak chats up a woman who he then invites with him to take a midnight cruise.
She has a skiff they can use. -
Ade
Lomona thinks that maybe the target is his brother Narn, who has been
investigating Dariv’s operation. -
The woman Anak chats up is actually
the sniper, who knocks him out with drugs when they get two klick’s out. She
lines up the sights of the special rifle on the crowd that are now looking
out the huge dome which has opened to watch the Sun Colour festival. Ade,
listening to what is happening on the boat over Anak’s open comline, dives
forward and wrestles Duze to the ground. -
The gun doesn’t fire – Patron Cap
has built a duff weapon. The woman pulls a proton launcher out of hiding and
fires that instead but she misses as Anak recovers from the drug and spoils
her aim. The missiles hit support struts and the pier starts to collapse. -
A fight ensues. Dariv’s men go after
Ade and Duze as they battle to escape the collapsing pier. Anak knocks the
sniper woman out cold and is then picked up by the coastguard and flown back
to the pier. -
Ade Lomona, Duze Jostenn, Patron Cap and
his family have been forced into one of the leg stanchions of the pier by
Dariv’s men. Anak takes over the controls of the coastguard Skyhopper, blows
a hole and they escape as the pier collapses into the sea completely. DESTRUCTION
OF THE WRETCHED ECLIPSE
-
Ade Lomona’s ship the Wretched
Eclipse is lost. -
They re-group. Anak is expecting
some kind of gratitude from Duze but doesn’t get any, seriously bruising his
ego. He gets cocky and brash in Jostenn’s face and Duze, not liking to thank
or apologise to people because he’s stubborn, turns it into a blazing row.
Arkensaw storms off, Ade and Glann Cipple go with him, and they leave the
planet without the others in a ship Ade acquires. -
On their return back to Leogard they
find a shuttle parked on their pad with the name `DJ’ stencilled into the
side of it. It has flown in on automatic and spread the virulent disease
Fedali throughout the mining camp. Anak immediately suspects Duze Jostenn but
they find out Dariv’s full name from his brother – Dariv Jotacsa. Glann says
it couldn’t have been Jostenn anyway – he had sent Glann to secure the boxes,
which have now been stolen. Dariv knew of the boxes and when he heard that
Duze no longer owned the land he planned to take the fortune and get rid of
the witnesses and landowners. Duze and Narn Giappa Lomona weren’t the targets
back at the pier – Anak Arkensaw and Ade Lomona were. -
They return to Duze Jostenn who
agrees to help them. He will supply treatments for the miners if they get the
boxes back off Dariv. Since the disease Fedali only comes from Alorea, they
decide to go there with Heena to find him and the boxes. Dariv has bought a
moon in orbit, which has been hollowed out by mining, riddled with tunnels
and caves. -
After flying through the network of
tunnels for hours they find the boxes – and a group of automated mining
robots. A fight begins, with the ship’s hull swarming with droids. They
barely escape, their ship badly mauled but flyable. ARKENSAW,
LOMONA AND HEENA SCAM JOSTENN
-
After taking a vote, Anak Arkensaw,
Ade Lomona and Heena decide to screw Duze Jostenn and take off with the 20
million credits worth of P’ro artefacts. They came close to death and have
had their hopes for a resort on Leogard destroyed. Heena, fed up with low
paid jobs, decides to go with them. ARKENSAW, LOMONA AND HEENA FLEE
SETNIN
-
Anak Arkensaw, Ade Lomona and Heena
begin their run from the Setnin Sector with the money, with Duze Jostenn,
Dariv Jotacsa, the En’k’far, the P’ro and the Janos Executioners after them. -
Glann Cipple completes
his final assignment for Duze Jostenn as an employee, a trip smuggling DL-9
to Gista. |
