State of the Union Address A brief word from Louis
Turfrey As the bloke who originally ran the Lightsabre web site, and the person who now works behind the scenes to ensure that it is technically in order, I think it falls to me to thank not only the fans of this web site, but its current editor – Mark Newbold – for sticking with it. Having just read Marks wonderful investigation into the disappearance of so many Star Wars web sites `Where Have All the Good Sites Gone?’ I can wholeheartedly agree that running one is hard work, very hard work. I know that Mark spends at least six to ten hours a week editing documents, sending out letters and updating the guides. I, and others involved with this site, write stories, create artwork and help Mark in whatever way we can. At the moment, I help deal with the major programming headaches, site graphics and technical problems that we sometimes encounter. I do this as well as writing stories, getting us interviews and providing the odd Setnin Select. Mark deals with the page design, layout, editing, most of the recent banners, site promotion, timeline, guides, writing, various articles, some artwork and everything not listed above and below. Jonathan looks after the Role-playing side of things, providing 99% of the articles in that section as well as a lot of writing and providing artwork. Paul writes stories, and helps guide us when we forget some of the timeline. Paul also points out the inconsistencies in any of our stories and I have often been grateful for his attention to detail. I for one am proud of what this sight has achieved within the few years that we have been up and running, and can confidently say that for as long as possible, Lightsabre will be here providing you with the latest news from the Setnin Sector. How can I be so confident? Mainly because I look after the domain registration, manage the web space and technical issues and when I don't Mark is there to fill the gaps. This is why Lightsabre works, we split the load. Not always evenly, I admit, but more like a magazine than a web site. We are a team in every way, headed by a man with a single vision. Not George but close. Lastly, and something that I have not seen mentioned on the site, we have an additional domain name that links to this site. Just to ward off those complaints that us English can't spell, the domain www.lightsaber.co.uk now redirects to www.lightsabre.co.uk. Keep in touch, and keep visiting the site.
