The Prophecy

Twelve years after Episode IV – A New Hope

It is twelve years since the Galactic Civil War and the Battle of Yavin. The New Republic is barely reaching to the far corners of the galaxy to spread its word of good. Luke Skywalker is known throughout the entire galaxy as the Jedi who defeated the evil lord Darth Vader. However, a new breed of Jedi is flourishing and will once again be an order, the new Jedi Order, lead by Luke Skywalker. Luke Skywalker is the founder of the one and only Jedi Academy in the entire galaxy. It is well known and every potential young Jedi will one day attend the academy to learn the ways of the Force…

"There is no escape. Don't make me destroy you. You do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me and I will complete your training. With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the galaxy."

   "I'll never join you!"

"If you only knew the power of the dark side. Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father."

"He told me enough! He told me you killed him."

   "No. I am your father."

"Master Luke, please wake, you are going to be late for your teachings at the Jedi Academy," a robotic voice called from the distance. Luke woke, he was still suffering from the moment he found out the evil lord Darth Vader was his father, the man the entire galaxy feared and hated.

   "Thank you C-3PO."

"Luke, are you going to teach the academy today?" a voice asked from behind him.

   "Leia, you feeling okay?"

"Of course I am, It is I who should be asking you that question." Leia stared at her brother for a long time, trying to use her new Jedi abilities Luke had taught her to see what was wrong.

"Of course I am feeling okay, its just ... I had the dream again, the one about Darth Vader."

"What do you think it is trying to tell you?"

"I am not sure. I am still trying to control my dreams. The dreams are an uncontrollable way of the Force." Luke stared into his sister's eyes, she understood what he was telling her, but she never had any dreams as he did. Maybe it was because she was not a Jedi yet, or maybe it was not her destiny to be guided by her dreams and save the galaxy just as he did. Not yet anyway. "I have to go. I'll talk to you and Han later, okay sister."

"Okay Luke, you take care. May the Force be with you."

As Luke made his way to the transport, he thought about himself, Leia, and Han. If he wasn't on some mission or teaching his young Jedi, Leia was on a diplomatic mission trying to resolve a problem between planet systems, or Han was on the same missions as Leia's escort. Chewbacca was accompanying them for extra protection. They were never together long enough to talk about everything that was troubling themselves. He and Leia had a special mental connection, only because they were twins. This connection was made even stronger due to the fact they were both Jedi. The bond had saved him once before, when he was hanging from the very bottom of Cloud City and only Leia heard his cry for help. If not for Leia, he wouldn't be right here thinking to himself.

It was still early morning when Luke arrived at the Jedi Academy.

"Greetings Master Luke," a young boy told him as he slightly bowed his head.

"Greetings Duskan. Are you ready for class?"

"Yes, yes I am. What are you going to teach today, if I may ask."

"That I cannot say, for even I do not know the answer to that question. I will trust the Force and whatever it decides is what I will teach."

"Yes, Master Luke. I know whatever you decide will be the best."

"You are learning young Jedi, now hurry along with the others. I have some preparing to do."

The young Jedi bowed his head and ran to his fellow young peers. As Luke walked the long corridor to teach his class of eager Jedi, he thought once again about the dream. What does this dream mean? Why does it play back in my mind? Does the Force want me to speak of what I dream to other Jedi? Is it a warning?

"Open your eyes Luke, look at what is in front of you," a familiar voice called from a distance.

"Obi-wan? Is that you?" Luke was stunned, yet at the same time he was glad to hear the wise and familiar voice.

"Open your eyes, Luke. The answer is right in front of you." The voice answered no question, but Luke knew who it was. "Obi-wan! How do I tell the children? They will not understand."

"If you teach them, they will understand."

Now, Luke knew what he had to do. He must tell the story of him and his father, Anakin Skywalker. There is a much deeper truth to the story, and the children must know if they don't want to be seduced by the dark side.

Luke entered the Jedi training room.

"Greetings Master Luke!" all of the children shouted in unison.

"Greetings potential Jedi," Luke replied as he was eyeing the children. Yes, they are ready to learn the story of The Prophecy. "Today I am going to teach you the story of the Chosen One, my father, Anakin Skywalker."

The children grew quiet. They were interested in this new teaching strategy of Luke's.

"The dark side. The dark side is not a path that you want to follow; it is filled with hate, anger, aggression, and suffering. My father was too weak to match the strength of the dark side, but it was his destiny. However, the dark side and the light side speak of the same prophecy, the prophecy of the Chosen One. It says: the prophecy of the Chosen One will bring balance to the Force. The destiny of my father was to bring balance for the dark Jedi, the Sith. He did indeed accomplish this. He hunted then killed the Jedi, until I was the last and only hope. But my father was not the first nor is he going to be the last of the prophecy, it will live on. A millennia ago it was the Age of the Jedi. It was then when the lightsaber was the weapon of choice to combat the enemy. Not just the Jedi, but everyone. It was when the belief of the Force was not criticized, as an ancient religion, it was THE religion. This is when the Sith had an advantage over the Jedi. The Sith let corruption reign over the planet systems, and there was much tyranny in the galaxy. There was suffering among many people and their families, but the Sith lived a rich life filled with riches and countless possessions. At this time, however, there lived a boy by the name of Wahlen Kraft. He was born into a suffrage that the Sith bestowed upon his home planet of Reytha. His mother, Frau Kraft, was a nova miner. He had no father, he was conceived by the Force just as Anakin Skywalker. This was a definite sign that he was indeed the Chosen One. The Jedi was a small race and group that wanted the riddance of the Sith. They hoped for the Chosen One that the teachings of the Force had promised them. They were in luck; Wahlen Kraft was discovered by the head of the ancient Jedi Council and was immediately put into training to become a Jedi Knight. His mother never left his side. This is the difference between Anakin Skywalker and Wahlen Kraft. Anakin Skywalker wanted revenge for the death of his mother while Wahlen Kraft did not fall into this situation. After ten years of hard Jedi training and having to endure the corruption of the Sith, Wahlen became a Jedi Knight. A Jedi War brewed and was mixed with different beliefs of the Sith and the Jedi. Fighting broke out and the ancient Jedi Wars began! At this time, Wahlen Kraft did not want to enter the war, but his master, Kie Tiberian, insisted that he should. He told Wahlen that he would deliver the entire galaxy from the Sith. One year into the wars, Wahlen Kraft entered the war with his master at his side. But almost immediately, his master was murdered by a Sith Knight. He tried to retain himself and not give into his emotion of anger. He did succeed. Instead, he remembered his master's teachings and won that battle for the Jedi. Eight long years the war raged, in each battle you could see Wahlen Kraft fighting for the protection of the galaxy and the end of the tyranny that the Sith bestowed upon it. The Sith were eventually wiped out by the Jedi and the help of Wahlen Kraft. The Sith became extinct. Or so it was thought at that time." Luke looked around the room, the children were listening attentively. This made Luke feel as if he had accomplished something. "Right young Jedi?"

"Yes, Master Luke!" they all shouted in unison again.

"The prophecy will live on. It will continue to choose the Chosen One, but I know that all of you have mothers and fathers. So none of you will be the Chosen One, but you may serve the one the Force chooses and help him defeat evil."

"I will serve the Chosen One and the ways of the Force," this time the potential Jedi spoke in a more monotone voice. "Very good." "The daylight hours are almost through, why don't we call it a day for now. I will see you tomorrow, Jedi."

The children lined up in single file and took turns giving a slight bow to their Jedi Master. "Threepio, send me a transport. Will you?" Luke dispatched over his comlink.

"Yes, of course, Master Luke." The robotic yet clumsy voice echoed back.

   "Is Leia back yet Threepio?"

"No, Master Luke, she is not. But Artoo picked up a transmission from the computer mainframe here, it stated that she will be landing at Landing Bay 3 very shortly."

"Thank you Threepio, and thank you Artoo."

Many beeps, whistles, and blurts was what Luke heard as a reply. Luke smiled at the thought: his father owned the same exact droids as he has now, and even built one of them. The only thing that can explain it is destiny.
