CD BOX SET
Includes 5 discs and book
cat. no. 5577892
RELEASE DATE: 24/8/98

For the first time, Polydor will release a collection of the complete set of works by THE STYLE COUNCIL on August 24th. The compilation will appear in the form of a five CD box set and will include an extensive booklet.

The make up of this box set is fairly straightforward with the studio recordings listed in chronological order on Discs 1 - 4 and the beginning of Disc 5. The infamous last album, Modernism: A New Decade makes up the remainder of the fifth CD. This is, of course, the album that Polydor turned down and has, since 1989, remained dormant in Paul Wellers tape vaults. For the first time you will be able to listen to the album in its original form as it was meant to be heard.

In addition to the five compact discs, the box set includes an extensive booklet with forewords by Pat Gilbert and Paul Weller (both attached), an interview with Paul Weller by Paolo Hewitt (attached), compilers notes by Dennis Munday, The Style Council Diary compiled by John Reed, a three part set of biographical sleeve notes by Pat Gilbert, John Reed and Paolo Hewitt, a complete Style Council discography, numerous rare photos from both the compilers and Polydor archives, and more.

Enclosed you'll find a set of advance tapes of all five CDs as well as selected sleeve notes and original press shots of THE STYLE COUNCIL. If you require a complete set of sleeve notes and/or a set of colour trannies please contact Lisa Paulon/Polydor Press Office on XXXXXX.
