    SARA IN SHOCK ARSENAL BID

Rumours are rife in the footballing world this week that Sara Noble has been bought by Arsenal for an undisclosed sum which pundits say could rival that paid to Paul Shirer to join Newcastle.

    "Just good friends"

When confonted at her Ardley home by hordes of journalists and paparazzi, Sara (18) who is currently studying A-level Art, Religious Studies and Technology at Bicester Community College, at first refused to comment, but in a scoop aside to Mart's News she was prepared to say:

"At the present time my relationship with Arsenal is purely platonic. We are seeing a lot of each other and enjoy each other's company."

    CHRIS TO DO SOME FILING

In a surprise move yesterday, Christine Hammersley of Iffley, Oxford (age withheld) announced that she would imminently be "sorting out all this bloody stuff".

Sources close to Ms Hammersley are refusing to confirm or deny that she was referring to the piles of paper on the dining-room table.

    Foreign news

    Austin, Texas: 21 September

    RICHARD FLIES MOBLESS TO UK

Richard Hammersley, son of Christine Hammersley, currently working in Austin, is to fly over to the UK in late November.

"A man should spend time with his family," he commented tersely when questioned by Mart's News about the reasons for his visit.

We would like to emphasize that Mr Hammersley has no connections with the Mafia.
