What is Teleworking?

Teleworking is the practice of working at a distance from the employer, or client, either at home or at a Telecentre.

Changing work practices have increased the number of individuals working from home.

All types of workers, from Clerical Workers to Top Executives who have suffered from the stress of commuting and high-pressure jobs are enjoying the benefits of better health, reduced stress from travel and personal satisfaction from running their own businesses from home.

Enlightened corporations, too, are employing teleworkers, reducing office costs and reaping the benefits of improved performance.

Advances in technology and reduced costs of equipment have opened doors to the self-employed who want to work from home.

For those not still cossetted by being employed by corporations, the cost of working from home may be feelings of isolation and loss of motivation, particularly in the field of marketing.  The local Telecentre provides encouragement and support, as well as facilities to help the Teleworker.
