Looking for early ARK tracks ? Well you've come to the right place. I'll be featuring 2 songs from the band's repetoire at any one time, rotating tracks every 6 - 8 weeks. Tracks from the band's AMA & Mutilation Corporation releases will appear at a later date, but for now, download - play - settle back - and listen to some ARK favourites. |

RARE LIVE & UNRELEASED

This was one of those writing sessions round Steve's
flat, where the band went through ideas, before deciding, which ones
would be worth rehearsing. E.V.I.L. started as a riff that Gel had been
playing around with. It had been noted that it would be good to feature
and instrumental in the set to help pace Ant's voice. This was my favourite,
but 'So What' won out in the end. |

This was a version the band were working in rehearsal.
The flute has been dropped, but the rest of the song sounds like it
could have been a contender ;-) |

Do you have a request for an ARK or DAMASCUS track? Then email me : barbie@missbarbell.co.uk. Include the words "ARK REQUEST" as part of the subject line, and mention whether you prefer me to upload a live or studio version. For as complete a list as possible see the lyrics page. I shall be searching through some of the rehearsal tapes in the future, so expect hear some VERY rare material.

| Hands Down (3.45MB) |
A tale of a poor soul's love for someone who will only
cause them heartache. A love unrequited, it might be said. This deserved
re-recording as it's a great pop song. Maybe Grass will dig it out when
they've feeling nostalgic ... well it happened with Change I & After
The Feast! |
| Stand Alone (3.77MB) |
An anti-pollution anthem, but also an anti-ignorance
song. How the city folk, particularly in London, carry on their roles
in life, oblivious of the perpetual destruction of the earth all around
them, and their ambivalence in doing anything to stop it's progress.
This was the bands first venture into "green" issues, and consideration
for the environment. |
| Stargazer (2.70 Mb) |
Taken from the band's last album, Spiritual Physics,
this would have been a great single. The Black Country had a wealth
of hitmakers during the 60s & 70s, and this was ARK's tribute to
their predecessors. The song itself is about two people who are forever
stuck in their own worlds, never having the courage to find each other.

| Celebrate (2.74 Mb) |
A nice happy song taken from the Cover Me With Rain EP. |
