In a bizarre turn of Christmas madness, both the NME and Melody Maker's festive editions feature cameo appearances from Sarah in "reconstructing-famous-scenes-from-tv-and-cinema-using-pop-stars" type features.

NME plumped for the scene from light-hearted British soap opera EASTENDERS where Ian Beale buys a bullet in the stomach. "A nation screamed with glee when EastEnders' Ian Beale took a bullet in the belly. Serves him right for the horrible 'tache, but we had to take his side as two-timing Ciiinnndy buggered off to France with half the kids in tow. Terrorvision's TONY WRIGHT and Dubstar's SARAH BLACKWOOD don their best cockernee accents in this homage to the scene that delighted the country." The scene features Ian (Tony) lying in a "dead" sort of pose in the gutter, whilst Cindy (Sarah) stands forlornly by.

Melody Maker's slightly more cheery angle sees Sarah take on the role of the woman on the Trainspotting poster. And a very good job she makes of it too. Heck, you'd think she could even hurt someone with those teeth... Alongside her are Keith from The Prodigy, Dennis Pennis, that bloke from Cast and that bloke from The Charlatans. Inside, there's a brief favourites-of-the-year questionnaire thingy..
