DUBSTAR IN CONCERT - 1.9.96 SWF Festival
Every year, German radiostation SWF invites new upcoming bands for some concerts. This year among others, Dubstar appeared and they played a very good show. Germans were able to see the show via a tv-broadcast. The 4 opened their show with Song No. 9" and a fantastic version of my favourite Dubstar track Not so manic now". The band was in a good mood, Sarah didn't say much except her thanx" and cheers", but it didn't matter. The funniest thing in the set was, when they wanted to play Elevator", which Sarah had already announced, but Steve had some problems with the sounddiscs, so they were forced to skip the track. And after that, Sarah announced View from here" and asked her mates to which single this was the b-side and everybody cracked up laughing, because it is of course the one of the 'problem' track Elevator". But they managed to get through the set well. The last song was Disgraceful", which set a good ending to the show. But we all wanted more, and Sarah came out first to bring us an a-capella version of The day I see you", which was absolutely brilliant, and she got a big crowd response for that, which made her smiling... Then the band returned and played a superb version of St. Swithin's Day", with which they closed the show. They played the following tracks: Song No. 9 / Not so manic now / Can't tell me / Just a girl / Week in, week out / Anywhere / It's clear / Not once but ever / View from here / Stars / Popdorian / Disgraceful Encore: The day I see you (Sarah a-capella) / St. Swithin's day.
