Somewhat neglected but otherwise essential to DUBSTAR is our drummer PAUL WADSWORTH. He is 21, and from the Isle of Wight. Paul joined us in July of last year mainly for live work but will be featured on the new album extensively (if he stays sober enough). An ex-student of Newcastle College, Paul was introduced to the band by our T-shirt man Dex (who is also a long time friend of mine and helps run my clubnights).
DISGRACEFUL is now officially a GOLD album, which means it has sold over 100,000 albums in the UK. This may sound a bit bitchy, but this means we are more successful than ST.ETIENNE in a fifth of the time!!! I'm still a fan though.
We have a new manager. He is called STEV0, who you may know from SOFT CELL and SOME BIZARRE fame.p There's a feature on the band in the NME tomorrow 21st Aug which I haven't seen but is bound to be revelationary. Bear in mkind that we had been in the sun all day.
Lastly, we will be playing the ARENA in Middlesbrough tonight 20th and Liverpool LOMAX tomorrow, debuing BROWNMOUTH and playing WEEK IN WEEK OUT
