GOODBYE reviewed

Dubstar's second album "GOODBYE" is complete and due for a September release! Thanks to Steve Hillier for the information, which I've left in his words...

Dubstar have completed their Stephen Hague produced second album entitled GOODBYE. The record marks the end of Dubstar's romance with Newcastle-upon-Tyne now all three members have relocated, with Sarah moving to Manchester, Chris to London and Steve moving to Brighton. Lyrically, various songs pay reference to Tyneside and it's inhabitants......for example MY START IN WALLSEND is a tribute to a lover from that most Geordie of suburbs and POLESTAR paints a picture of Jesmond Dene in winter. Better than it sounds we assure you!

The album will be released in September with a full UK tour in October. GOODBYE includes fifteen tracks, one of which is a new version of THE VIEW FROM HERE which has been updated with a Russian choir for that extra James Bond feel. More varied than Disgraceful and without the additional production of Graeme Robinson, GOODBYE features live drum playing from Paul Wadsworth and brass and string sections. However, Dubstar's trademarks all remain.

THE FIRST SINGLE (audio clip)
Dubstar will be releasing their first single of '97 in mid June. This will be called NO MORE TALK and the double CD release includes three new tracks that will not be on the forthcoming album: UNCHAINED MONOLOGUE, GOODBYE TO YOU and a cover of the Charles Aznavour classic LA BOHEME. The second CD will include acoustic versions of STARS, ELEVATOR SONG and NOT ONCE NOT EVER that were previously only available on the hideously expensive Japanese import verion of Disgraceful. Remixes of NO MORE TALK will be available to DJs only.....more details soon.

Dubstar are also contributing a new song IN CHARGE to a British made film named SHOOTING FISH which will be released in November. The soundtrack to the film which also includes ELASTICA, PULP amongst others should be available from mid summer onwards. Starring Kate Bekinsale, it's dead good!

LIVE DATES
Dubstar will be playing the NME stage at Glastonbury Festival this year on Saturday 26th June. Earlier that same week there are dates in Norwich, Coventry and Bath. More details soon.
