The Black Horse Music Festival is held annually during the Spring Bank Holiday at the end of May. It takes place at Telham, nr. Battle, East Sussex, England. The events include folk, blues, rock and world music with performances from international and local musicians. |
The PDCS record label has now finished the
retrospective CD from the folk-rock band Better Days
- excellent value with 16 tracks lasting over one hour for £6. If you like
English music played in the traditional style, check out the debut CD by
Oliver Bootle, a BBC Young Tradition Award Finalist.
The catalogue also includes an acclaimed release from the respected fiddle
player
Garry Blakeley (who also plays with
The Tabs and Band of Two). A
number of pages are provided giving details (and reviews) of the CDs and how to
obtain copies. The CDs may be auditioned by
downloading WAV files (also available as a combined
ZIP file). Artist gig lists are also published and regularly updated.
The CD Reviews page mainly covers 'folk' releases.
Reviews are added as they become available. In addition to those that have been
provided by Pete Fyfe, who writes for Stepping Out magazine, we have now been
supplied with a series of reviews by Andy Hemsley, a reviewer for the EFDSS
magazine. Independent reviews of PDCS releases are also included (all sources
acknowledged).
Try the links page for a mixture of music sites
(both folk and general) and sites of interest to anyone living in or visiting
the South-East of England.
