Singer John Burgess with an erudite musical knowledge of his music, always an understated front man for many folk bands (he was front man for the folk/rock band Better Days), has developed a voice of strength with dynamics enabling him to stamp his authority on all of his performances. He inspires audience reaction, which in turn inspires him to even greater levels; he is gifted with a wonderful voice.

John is joined by Paul Dengate on guitar. He also played with Better Days and can often be seen playing at many of the traditional music sessions around the Hastings area. But his musical experience is wide ranging and he has been influenced by musicians of many styles with whom he has worked as both a guitarist and sound engineer.

Together, John and Paul give a fresh sound to John's repertoire of traditional songs.
