National Space Society declares ASTRA 'chapter of the month', featured in their magazine 'Ad Astra'.

Jan.25. Dr. Jeffrey Fox, G.U. Astronomy Dept., 'The Sun', first of a series of monthly lectures on the Solar System at Airdrie.

Jan.28. Gordon Dick (now known as Gordon Ross) resumes Ayrshire Branch meetings at Largs Public Library (later at Flatt Road Community Centre) with report on the Maryland Waverider Symposium.

Mar.22. Dr. Graham Yates, 'Research at Jodrell Bank', Airdrie.

Apr.12. ASTRA & Dalserf Optics participation in Gagarin exhibition at Braidhurst High School, Wishaw.

May 18. AGM at Pearce Institute. Sheena Macintosh stands down from Secretary, replaced by Greg Beekman; Jim Shaw leaves Council, Stuart Geddes rejoins it.

June 1. Waverider conference at Pearce Institute, followed by Annual Dinner & Presidential Toast at the Koh-i-Noor.

June 8. Airdrie Public Observatory Open Day with star map by Greg Beekman.

Aug.23-26. Airdrie and Largs teams compete in the Scottish Rocket Weekend, now organised by John Bonsor's 'STAAR Research', and regain the Oscar Schwiglhofer Trophy, which is then modified to make clear it's an ASTRA award.

Sept.7. ASTRA & Dalserf Optics stands at National Astronomy & Space Show, Paradise Circus Complex, Birmingham.

Sept.13-26. 'Urban Spacemen' recreated for Caithness & Orkney Science Festivals, then goes to Coats Observatory, Paisley. After discussions with Prof. Heinz Wolff, Rodney Buckland, and (by telephone) Roy Gibson, the Sunday Times covers the 'Crossroads in Space' proposal by Duncan Lunan & Bill Ramsay for a merger of the European and former Soviet space programmes; presented in detail in Asgard, Christmas 1991, and in a shorter version for Space Policy, Feb.1992.

Sept.27-30. ASTRA provides spaceflight programme & exhibition for Albacon 91 SF convention, Central Hotel, Glasgow, including panel on the future of the Soviet space programme, videos from the National Remote Sensing Centre, slide shows on Space Telescope and Magellan, and a Waverider game devised by Gordon Dick (now known as Gordon Ross).

Nov.16-17. ASTRA display and Duncan Lunan lecture on Waverider at United Kingdom Students for the Exploration & Development of Space Annual Conference, University of Leicester.

Dec.12. Willie Fleming hosts Technical Committee meeting on Youth & Space 'Euro-Project', balloon launch platform for amateur rockets.

Fri. Dec.13. 'Friday the 13th Part 38' Anniversary Dinner at Tudor Hotel, Airdrie, organised by Sheena Macintosh.
