Feb.19. Andy Nimmo launches discussion project on 'How Do We Get Politicians Interested in Space Again?'.

Feb.22. Duncan Lunan Waverider lecture to Glasgow University Astrosoc.

Apr.8. Group visit to 'Star Party' at Royal Observatory, Edinburgh, during Edinburgh International Science Festival (repeated 1995).

May 13. Council meeting on proposal for Glasgow premises in King St. (not successful).

May 17 - June 9. McDonnell Douglas conducts successful windtunnel tests of Waverider design at speeds up to Mach 16.5, US Navy Surface Warfare Center, Maryland.

May 21. AGM at GCVS. Andy Nimmo becomes Secretary.

June 11. Open Day, Airdrie Public Observatory, with photo exhibit from Royal Observatory, Edinburgh.

July 18-23. Public Jupiter watch at Airdrie Public Observatory during Comet Shoemaker-Levy impacts.

August. Deaths of Margaret Schwiglhofer, former ASTRA Secretary, and Pat Jones.

Analog publishes 'Keep Watching the Skies!' by Duncan Lunan and Gordon Ross, formerly Gordon Dick, advancing the Solaris lightsail concept as a way to protect Earth from impact hazards; longer version in Asgard, May 1995.

Aug.25. Annual Dinner and Presidential toast to spaceflight at the Uisge Beatha, Woodlands Road, Glasgow. Guests of Honour ex-cosmonaut trainee Mikhail Lisun (Commander of the prime crew for the Salyut 5 military space station, but dropped when his co-pilot suffered a nervous breakdown), now Assistant Director of the Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow, and Igor Popov, Business Manager of the Museum. Mikhail Lisun proposed the toast to the memory of Yuri Gagarin, whom he knew well.

Aug.26. Lecture at Airdrie by Mikhail Lisun and Igor Popov.

Sept.2. Greg Beekman, (now of Keele University) 'Stellar Winds and Accretion Discs', Airdrie.

Sept.16. Duncan Lunan, 'Keep Watching the Skies!', Airdrie, based on the article in Analog; followed by the Lightsail Project (see 1995).

Oct.21. ASTRA poster exhibition at Albacon SF Convention, Central Hotel, Glasgow. Programme participation includes talk on the Analog article by Gordon Ross and Duncan Lunan, Waverider update by Gordon and space politics discussions by Andy.

Dec.18. Anniversary Dinner at Riggend Restaurant, near Airdrie.
