on Radioastronomy Frequencies
(CRAF) has signed
an agreement with Iridium LLC the telecommunications
satellite operator to protect an important frequency band in
radioastronomy from interference from Iridium's flotilla of
66 low-Earth orbiting satellites. Iridium launched its
global mobile telephone service in September 1998. For more
