joined the BIS Scottish branch in the late 1950's and became
Vice-P resident in the early 160's. He organised the 'Space
and Scotland' project, intended to produce a report for the
1963 Scottish Industries Exhibition, which was the main
issue over which ASTRA was formed as a society independent
of the BIS. Andy was a member of ASTRA-London in the
mid-1970's and after it broke up he formed a succession of
space politics groups culminating in the Space Settlers
Society, which merged with ASTRA in 1992 and of which he was
chairman. He took part in the "Man and the Stars" and "Man
and the Planets" book projects and has a guest chapter in
"New Worlds for Old"; is a member of the publications
committee and edited the Jan. 1997 issue of
Spacereport. Next
