Page please email: John Braithwaite of
Braithwaite Telescopes has been a member since the 1960's
and is the only maker of astronomical telescopes in
Scotland, and Consultant to Airdrie
Public Observatory; he has
exhibited telescopes at the 'Urban Spacemen' art exhibition
in Stornoway and Edinburgh (see ARTISTS)
and has exhibited jointly with ASTRA at the National
Astronomy Show and London Astronomy Show. He was Technical
Supervisor of the Glasgow Parks Dept. Astronomy Project and
a speaker at all three of the society's archaeoastronomy
conferences. He is about to complete a major upgrading and
refurbishment of Airdrie
Public Observatory financed
by the outgoing Monklands District Council. Next
