The Airdrie Branch of ASTRA entered a team in an attempt to bring the Schwiglhofer Trophy back to Airdrie

The team consisted of -

Back row, Left to Right:

Paul Clark, Stuart Geddes; David Baird.

Front Row, Left to Right:

Ivan Dale; George McCue; Raymond McCall; .

When it came to the day of the competition the members of the team remained hopeful of winning back the Schwiglhofer Trophy. On the day of the competition the ASTRA team had to take second place to the Paisley Rocketeers.

Oscar Schwiglhofer told the Airdrie Team not to be too disappoint as the Paisley team had been flying Aquajets a good number of years and had had a considerable amount of experience when it came to building Aquajets.

"Oh Yes - It's the Big One"

During Sundays proceedings Danny Kane - ASTRA's Airdrie Team Launch Controller - took the opportunity to launch his latest Aquajet design. To paraphrase Duncan Lunan (an active ASTRA member who does not participate in Rocketry) "It's the Big One - OH Yes".

Lift-off and the rocket is away and Danny Kane is rather wet!
