the day and every 30 minutes during the evening. You should
travel to Airdrie Station. When leaving Airdrie
Station turn left and walk towards the Roundabout. Cross
straight over the roundabout into Broomknoll Street.
Continue until you come to the cross roads controlled by
traffic lights. Go straight across into Bank Street. At the
next cross roads turn left into Anderson Street. The Airdrie Arts
Centre is about half way along Anderson Street, next to the
Police Station. To find Airdrie
Public Observatory continue along Anderson Street, past the
Airdrie Arts Centre, up to the end of Anderson Street. With
the Police Station on your left locate the Church Gates
which should be directly in front of you. To the left of the
Church Gates is the building containing Airdrie Public
Library. Airdrie Public
Library is also the location of Airdrie Public
Observatory. There are a number of
possible routes when travelling by car, the description
given here is ONE possible route. N.B. All directions

a long right hand corner which then takes you past a church
on the right hand side of the road (now Paddock Street). At
the roundabout just past the church go straight on - do not
turn left (Map
Four).
Follow up the hill,
(now Sykeside Road), until you reach a 'T' junction. Turn
left at the 'T' junction into Cairnhill Road
(Map
Four). Follow
this road, which turns shape right and then shape left over
a disused railway line. Continue along this road past
Cairnhill Trading Estate on your right (Map
Two).
After another 200
metres (approx.), you should see Airdrie Railway Station on
the left, with the Railway line crossing the road via a
bridge in front of you. Pass under the railway bridge to the
roundabout (Map
Two). Go straight over the
roundabout into Broomknoll Street. Continue until you come
to the cross roads controlled by traffic lights. Go straight
across into Bank Street. At the next cross roads turn left
into Anderson Street(Map
